Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does one find relevant information?

You can navigate our entire website through the navigation panel. Industry Reports lists all 21 manufacturing subsectors. Inside each subsector, you can identify the 6-digit NAICS U.S. industry that interests you. One click will take you to its executive summary. Alternatively, you can use the search function with specified keywords. The Quick Index is another speedy way to look for a report title. This index contains 472 report titles, graphically grouped based on the official NAICS classification.

What is NAICS (North American Industry Classification System)?

The NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) coding system is the de-facto classification system of products and industries. The Industry Reports page illustrates the "Manufacturer-Centric" concept and its relation with other industries, all within the context of the NAICS.

What is the difference between a 6-digit report and a similarly titled one that has a lower?

You'll notice that we offer industry reports at the 6-digit NAICS level, which is an unparalleled depth of research scope that is hard to find. A lower digit report has a broader scope that includes more industries. For example, 322121 and 322122 are specific industries that fall under the parent industry 32212X - Paper mills. Choose your relevant industry scope while keeping in mind that the 6-digit level offers the most details on a specific industry.
